Munich, Germany – October 1, 2024 – From James Brown and Frank Zappa to Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles – in the music game ‘Quiz with Fritz’, all the big stars of the last fifty years are represented in interview excerpts, photos and historical documents. The personal archive of the radio and TV presenter Fritz Egner, who is extremely popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, was utilised for this purpose. ‘In 50 years, I have met almost all the big stars of the music world and always dreamed of turning my archive of over 400 interviews, photos and dedications into an interactive quiz game about Mick Jagger, Madonna, James Brown, Whitney Houston & Co,’ explains Fritz Egner.
In its first edition, Quiz mit Fritz covers the hits from 1974 to 2024 and – unlike most quiz games – not only offers text questions, but you can also listen to over 300 original interview excerpts and view 300 photos, dedications and tickets from Fritz’s personal archive. When opening your personal album in the game, you can enjoy the content you have unlocked over and over again at your leisure. The interviews have a total playing time of over five hours. As a reward, Fritz Egner tells anecdotes from his time with the stars, including incredible stories about Sting, James Brown, Janet Jackson and Diana Ross.

BBG Entertainment will release ‘Quiz mit Fritz’ on 1 October 2024 for iOS and Android as a freemium version. The first 100 questions are free of charge, further questions can be purchased via in-app purchases (500 questions for EUR 1.99 or all 2,300 questions for EUR 5.99).

Fritz Egner is a true legend in the German TV and radio landscape. His career began in 1974 at the US radio station AFN. After moving to Bayerischer Rundfunk in 1979, he started out as a radio presenter and from 1985 also as a TV presenter. ‘Dingsda’ (ARD) attracted up to 14 million viewers at its peak, and later programmes such as “Versteckte Kamera” and “WWW – Die Witzigsten Werbesports der Welt” for ZDF and SAT.1 also became ratings hits. However, his great passion has always been radio and music in particular. To this day, he hosts the now cult radio programme ‘Fritz & Hits’ on Bayern 1, in which he reveals his inexhaustible anecdotal knowledge of music and musicians.
