BBG Entertainment is celebrating the launch of BOULDER DASH 40th Anniversary at gamescom with a full programme: in addition to daily contests and the international Championship Final on Saturday, the three classic BOULDER DASH characters will also be seen in a new look in the final version of the game for the first time. It can be admired for the first time at gamescom in Hall 10.2, C010/B019!

Are you looking for real world premieres during your visit to gamescom? Then stop by BBG Entertainment in Hall 10.2 in the retro area. Not only will we be showing the final version of BOULDER DASH 40th Anniversary and inviting all visitors and media representatives to qualify for the international BOULDER DASH Championship Final on Saturday (01:00 PM) in our daily competition, but we will also be unveiling the reboots of two genuine 8-bit classics, which will be making their comeback on current gaming systems in early 2026.

First launched in 1984, Boulder Dash® is a pioneering interactive video game that quickly became a classic of the home computer era. Loved by casual and hardcore players alike, the game created by Peter Liepa with Chris Gray and its many sequels have challenged fans for more than three decades.

We celebrate the release of BOULDER DASH® 40th Anniversary Edition, arriving worldwide on August 21, 2025, for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Windows and Mac (Switch following 28th of August in the US/Korea/HongKong and 4th of September in Europe) with daily contests throughout the week and the grand Championship Final on Saturday with our partners from EIGHT BIT E-SPORTS.

BBG Entertainment will be represented with a stand in the “Retro Area” in Hall 10.2, Booth Nr. C010 from 21 to 25 August.
